L is for the way you look at me

Who: Revelry and Love (aka Seth Gecko and Diana Prince)
What: Formal introductions
Where: Temple of Love
When: Before Seth was hailed on the network by Mother Nature
Warning(s): Language because Seth. Will update if additional should rise.

He didn't know what the proper etiquette was between gods. Did they acknowledge each other from a distance or make the other's acquaintance in person? Seth didn't mind conversation over the comm device but preferred a face to face to truly size up someone. It had already peaked his interest to learn the throne for love had been occupied around the time he had taken his. And the truth was that he didn't really give a shit about proper etiquette.

Vernos Bay was lucky that love wasn't the throne Seth had wandered into, his luck with it being a shit show. He failed equally across the board whether it was familial or romantic love. The L word didn't easily cross his lips. Yet with someone taking the throne, love became possible for all. Maybe even the gods. Not that Seth cared one way or the other about it. Or so he told himself.

"I come in peace," he called while entering the temple. His priests that followed him seemed to repeat after him. Seth carried a wine bottle in hand that had been enhanced by him. "I even brought a peace offerin'." Not that love should have an issue with revelry but he opted to be safe than sorry. None of the gods he'd met yet seemed like the type to wage war. Hopefully he pegged her right.

It's a party, a party!

Who: Everybody!
What: A Housewarming Party
Where: Newcomer Housing
When: Shortly after the communication throne is taken
Warning(s): None!

The building isn't the most attractive, not yet, but it's brightly lit and pristine. The kitchen and community dining area on the first floor have been decked out primarily in food: cheeses, meats, fruits, vegetables, and plenty of hardier meal-items as well. To make up for a lack of chairs Tatra has asked her priest to bring some of the floor pillows over from her temple, a short block and a half away.

Being host, Tatra decides to say a few words once enough people have arrived. She claps her hands to get everyone's attention.

"Hello, and welcome! Those of you who don't know me, I am Tatra, in charge of the temple of Hearth and Home. While my temple is officially in charge of this project, I'd like to give special thanks to her Majesty Queen Zelda and Miss Felicity Smoak for making all of this possible. I'm sure we're all quite pleased to announce that this building is now available for any and all newcomers to this strange place, free of charge! Keys can be found in the bedside tables of each set of rooms, so you needn't ask permission before claiming one.

"Now that that's been taken care of, please enjoy yourselves and the food provided by my dear priest Frank!"

Who needs a mom?

Who: Janey-E Jones and you.
What: The God of Life is going to check up on literally everyone.
Where: Your temple, or somewhere on the streets.
When: Over the first few weeks she's here.
Note: Janey-E is literally going to stomp into every single temple and demand to see who runs the place. We can play it or handwave it; just reply accordingly in the comments. If you want to handwave, reply with a description of whatever happens when Janey-E invades your happy home.

What Janey-E has discerned and/or decided in the days since her arrival in Vernos Bay:
1. There are quite a few people displaced from all over wherever here.
2. A number of them seem to be children. (Teenagers. But children in her eyes.)
3. As the God of Life, it's her duty to know what everyone is up to.

So each day, she sets out from her temple in the morning and picks another one to visit. If you're an adult, she's likely to be pretty straightforward and civil, unless you manage to piss her off by being discourteous, presumptuous, or otherwise annoying. If you're a teen, she's going to go Full Mom on you. Sorry.

Death Meeting

Who: Chase and Alida
When: Shortly after Alida's arrival.
Where: Death's temple
Warnings: Dead people?

Alida sits on the temple steps, seemingly talking to herself. "Let's see, can you move?" She waves a hand in front of her face. "Not you, the other one." She says, then smiles. "Perfect." Her pencil scratches over her pad as she puts down on the paper what she can see.

She hums to herself, drawing the dead. They aren't speaking to her, not yet, but they are there. She can tell. Their portraits will become part of her portfolio if she ever gets home.

They are crowding around her, and she can feel them pressing in close. "You're going to have to -" Suddenly, they back up and a shadow falls over her. She turns and looks up.

"Can I help you?"

It's going down tonight in this town

Who: Stephanie Brown, Jason Todd and Dick Grayson (spectator)
When: When Steph arrives
Where: Temple of Night and the Moon
Warnings: Violence!

She'd done enough research on arrival to find out that people could become gods here... which is to say, she skimmed the network and immediately set out to look around and preferably obtain coffee somewhere.

There was no coffee to be found, but there was a Temple of the Night. Which, if Steph had to be a god, she would definitely choose to be. She will be the Night!

But when she gets inside the temple is already lit up, and there are two whole people inside. One looks like some kind of priest, and the other is...

"Jason?"

With a dreamy, far-off look, and her nose stuck in a book

Who: Princess Queen Zelda and YOU!
When: Whenever
Where: Temple of Knowledge and Wisdom, the Library
Warnings: None anticipated

Zelda spends enough time in the library that it's honestly getting annoying that the librarians treat her like a stranger every time she comes in. It's gotten to the point where it's both lonely and a little disturbing, going there every day to continue learning about this strange place. To solve this problem she's started asking for a copy of any book the library has duplicates of. As the Goddess of Knowledge they tell her that she can have any book she likes, but she doesn't want to deprive the library or make it harder for anyone else to find what they're looking for.

She ends up with a very large pile of mostly reference books, but also some popular fiction and other assorted genres. It's more than she could possibly carry at once, but she refuses the librarians' offers to help. Until time starts moving forward it's just a reminder that this city doesn't feel real.

She can be found in the library, in the streets and in her own temple carrying an armload of heavy books to build her own personal library.

Where: The forest, and throughout the town
When: A couple of days after night and day start happening

Who: Dominique DiPierro and YOU
What: The new god of Law and Justice gets to work
Where: The Temple of Law and Justice and around Vernos Bay
When: Anytime in the first week after Dom claims the throne of Law and Justice

For the first day, it doesn't seem like much is different in Vernos Bay. But soon men and women start reporting for duty at police stations. Lawyers open their offices. Judges—the priest of Law—discover formal regalia that they'd forgotten they owned. Clerks set up shop in the Temple—the highest court in the land, as it turns out, sort of like Vernos Bay's equivalent of the Supreme Court or the Old Bailey (both of which buildings it vaguely resembles, Dom thinks).

Dom surprises herself a little. She turns out to be a fussy, hands-on sort, talking to everyone she can, learning about the way things used to run around here before the old gods disappeared. There's a lot of gaps. Rules and regulations that have fallen by the wayside, records and texts that need to be recovered from the dusty shelves and file drawers of the Temple. So she spends her week everywhere—in the Temple, at this or that police station, visiting a courthouse. You might see her there—or you might just see her about in the street, trying to get a decent cup of coffee or a sandwich.

As always, her clothes and hair and makeup are on point. Still, she looks a little tired and a lot driven—and also, weirdly perhaps, kind of happy.

Temple Tea Time!

Who: The Goddess Tatra and YOU!
When: Shortly after Tatra takes the throne
Where: Temple of the Hearth and Home
Warnings: None anticipated

Fire has worked since Tatra took control, and homes have warmth and light to them, but that's not enough for Tatra. She instructs her priests to let people know the temple now has tea, and anyone is welcome to come over and have some. This isn't required! She makes sure her priests understand that. Nobody is required to have tea, or come to the temple, or anything else. After all, homes should be private and personal if that's what people want.

But there can also be tea. If that's what people want.
